Doris (Castle) Mooradian

Brunswick - Doris Castle Mooradian, 88, of Brunswick Road died suddenly Monday, January 5, 2015, at her residence.
 
Born in Brunswick, she was daughter of the late David Castle and Elizabeth Herkenham Castle and wife of the late M. Edward  Mooradian. She was raised in Brunswick and Troy, resided in Brunswick for many years and the past 48 years in Eagle Mills and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1944 and Mildred Elley School. 
 
Mrs. Mooradian was a homemaker and many years ago was a bookkeeper for Denby's in Troy.  
 
She was an active member of Christ Church United Methodist serving as treasurer of the United  Methodist Women and working on the annual church bazaar for which she ran the very popular candy booth for many years.  She was also a member of the Women's Association of Vanderheyden Hall. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed baking and doing crossword puzzles.   
 
Survivors include a daughter, Amy  (Robert) Morris, Wynantskill; two granddaughters, Claire and Gillian Morris and a nephew, Nicholas (Debbie) Sopchak. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Sopchak.
 
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4-7 PM. 
 
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Christ Church United Methodist 35 State Street Troy with Rev. Marti Swords-Horrell, Pastor, officiating.
 
Interment will be in  Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
