Donald G. Ramroth

Troy - Donald G. Ramroth, 85, of Park Boulevard died peacefully Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI.

Born on December 4, 1928 in Troy, he was son of the late E. Edward and Anna (Hogan) Ramroth and husband for 62 years of the late Eileen Fitz Gerald Ramroth. He lived in Troy, until moving to Hixson, TN in 1984 where he resided before moving back to Troy in 1993. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from Siena College.

Mr. Ramroth was an Ordnance Engineer from 1951-1963 at ALCO in Schenectady, worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy in various capacities including Director of Physical Plant from1963-1984 and at E.W. Daniels Co. in Chattanooga, TN as General Manager retiring as Vice President of the Company in 1994.

Don was an avid hunter and reader and enjoyed traveling with his wife and vacationing with his family in Maine. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church.

Survivors include his children, Diane (Patrick) Dunne, Fairfax, VA, Donna (Robert) Miller, Troy, Donald (Laura) Ramroth Jr., Portsmouth, RI, Ellen (William) Piccerelli and Cynthia (Thomas) Ferdenzi, Barrington, RI; his grandchildren, Erin (Michael) Donofrio, Patrick (Amy) Dunne, Christopher, Gregory (Charlotte), Alison, and Jason Miller, Evan and Ellyn Ramroth, David (Heidi), Mark, Matthew (Alexa) and Ashley Piccerelli and Matthew, Katherine, Caroline and Emily Ferdenzi and his great grandchildren, Nathan Donofrio, Henry, Sullivan, and Murphy Dunne, Riley and Conor Miller, Isabelle Piccerelli and Camille Piccerelli. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward and James Ramroth and his twin sister, Dorothy Rubel.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Troy.
