Dominic A. DeBonis, 92

Troy - Dominic A. DeBonis, 92, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Donato DeBonis and Anna Marie DeBonis DeBonis and husband of the late Elizabeth Crummy DeBonis. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Siena College.

Mr. DeBonis was a letter carrier for the Troy Post Office for 41 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church and a former communicant of the former St. Paul the Apostle Church. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veteran's, a member of the Colonie Lodge Of Elks where he was a bartender for many of the events, East Side Seniors and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his children, Paul B. (Mary) DeBonis, Troy, Jerome R. (Margaret) DeBonis, Waterloo, IL, Diana (Danny) Holman, Stonington, CT and Dennis J. (Susan) DeBonis, Saratoga Springs; a brother, Daniel J. DeBonis, Troy; a sister, Mary Ryan, Albany; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and one on the way and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael P. DeBonis.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff of the Stratton VA Medical Center for their attentive care.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, from 4-7PM.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
