Diane G. Pociluk Hale, 62

Averill Park - Diane G. Pociluk Hale, 62, of Sheer Road died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn Albany after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Stephen Pociluk and Shirley Scott and wife for 44 years of Harry J. Hale Sr. She was raised in Troy and resided in Averill Park most of her life and was a graduate of St. Jude's School and a 1966 graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Diane was owner and operator of Cone and Craft Shop in Averill Park and later Custom Creations for 15 years retiring in 2000.

Very active in the gardening community, she was a member and received the 2004 Gardener of the Year award from the Sand Lake Garden Club and was a member of several other area garden clubs. She was an enthusiastic gardener, a Master Gardener and a member of the Best Herbal Society, Iris Society and Hosta Society. Diane was also a member of the Patroon Dog Club and a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park .

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Becky (Chris) VanderBogart, Harry J. (Renee) Hale Jr., Jason (Marcia) Hale and Sarah (Chris) Apfel all of Averill Park and Katie (Justin) Thompson of Poestenkill; two sisters, Carol Coffey, CO and Cindy (Mike) Lammon, MO; a brother, Peter (Terry) Hatalyk, Stillwater, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathy Pociluk and her step mother, Ann Pociluk.

Relatives and friends may call at the St. Henry's Church Old Route 66 Averill Park on Friday from 4-8 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10AM the CHURCH where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
