Diane Love Caird, 71

Troy - Diane Love Caird, 71, of Pawling Avenue died Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Rosewood Gardens in East Greenbush after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Walter Gibb Love and Mabel Lewis Love. She was raised in Melrose and resided in Troy for many years and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

Diane operated Diane's Fabrics in Troy from 1978-89 and later Diane's Designs out of her home on Pawling Avenue for many years and was a substitute teacher for the Enlarged City School District of Troy for many years.

She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy and a member of the Altar Guild and a former communicant of her family's church, the Church of the Ascension in Troy. She was active in the Daughter's of the American Revolution, Friends of Proctors, Mount Ida Preservation Association, the Uncle Sam Memorial Foundation Inc. and the Junior League of Troy.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Brant Caird, Troy and James Farnam (Kristin) Caird, Troy; a daughter, Jane Katherine (David) Champagne, Brunswick; three grandchildren, Katherine and Sophie Champagne and Emily Caird.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church 146 First Street Troy with Rev. Stephen Schlossberg, Rector, officiating.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Diane Love Caird to the Mount Ida Preservation Association 50 Pawling Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
