Dennis A. Ryan

Wynantskill - Dennis A. Ryan, 67, of Rhodes Avenue died suddenly Monday, October 12, 2015, at Samaritan Hospital after being stricken at home.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Thomas Ryan and Helena Pitts Ryan and husband for 44 years of Virginia A. Grinaldo Ryan. He had resided in Wynantskill all his life and attended St. Jude's School, Catholic Central High School, Troy High School, Hudson Valley Community College and a local welding school. 

Dennis was a sales representative for Albany Steel in Menands for the past 26 years and formerly was a welder for the D&H Railroad in Watervliet.  

He was a member of American Legion Post #1489 Wynantskill and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church.  Dennis was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in Italy and Greece.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Eric Ryan, Wynantskill and Daryl (Kristi) Ryan, Wynantskill; two grandchildren, Maxwell and Samuel Ryan; a brother, Brian (Sandra) Ryan, Wynantskill and his beloved dogs, Seamus and Otis, that he was known for walking around Wynantskill.  He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Ryan. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor.

Interment will be in  Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Dennis A. Ryan to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205.
