Clara M. Ward

Albany Clara M. Ward of Troy, died Wednesday at Albany County Nursing Home after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Catherine C. Bain Walters and wife of the late John R. Ward. She resided in Phoenix, Arizona and in San Diego for 16 years, but spent most of her life in the Troy area.

Mrs. Ward was employed at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for several years and the Veteran's Hospital in San Diego, California, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Heather and Melissa Ward, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Janet C. Ward, a son, Rory E. Ward, and several brothers and sisters; John B. Walters, Roberta B. Miller, Irving S. Walters, Agnes M. Walters, Jessie Miller, Muriel Naylor and Harold Walters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy, with Reverend James C. Mosher, Pastor of the former Woodside Presbyterian Church in Troy, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Ward to The Community Hospice of Albany County 315 South Manning Boulevard Albany, NY 12208.
