Charles Mikhitarian Sr., 92

Troy Charles Mikhitarian Sr., 92 ,a resident of Diamond Ridge in North Troy, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Harry Mikhitarian and Behiye (Bezjian) Mikhitarian. and husband of the late Helen E. Kelly Mikhitarian.

He had resided in Troy all his life and was educated at Troy schools.

Charlie was employed for many years as a butcher and then worked at Behr-Manning in Watervliet in production control for approximately 37 years, retiring in 1976.

Charlie was a lifelong active member of the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Church in Troy. He was a member of the Frear Park Twilight Golf League for many years and a former member of the Troy Lodge of Elks. He belonged to several bowling leagues. He was a devoted daily reader of the Bible.

Survivors include a son, Charles J. (Fran) Mikhitarian Jr. of Ballston Spa; two daughters, Shirley (Paul) Fleming of Halfmoon and Beverly (Eugene) Rohrwasser of Ballston Lake, two brothers, Jack (Mary) Mikhitarian of Troy and Harry (Dorothy) Mikhitarian of Loudonville; three sisters, Eliza (William) Wronowski of Wynantskill, Mary Bernstein of Troy and Dorothy Donelian of Troy; 12 grandchildren, Carol Ann Haines, Frank Chromik, Diane Patalino, Ken Chromik, David, Eugene and Mark Rohrwasser, Susan Orr, Mary Beth Stamas and Matthew, Michael and Mark Mikhitarian; 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Mikhitarian of Catskill.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, at 10:00 AM at the United Armenian Calvary Congregational 9th and Eagle Streets Troy with Rev. Vincent Kumjian, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery, in Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Charlie Mikhitarian to the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Church 144 Ninth Street Troy, NY 12180.
