Charles E. Keeler, Sr.

Wynantskill - Charles E Keeler Sr., 83, of Dobert Court died Thursday, December 10, 2015.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Charles Keeler and Gertrude May  Davenport Keeler and husband of the late Florence A. Crayer Keeler. He had resided in Wynantskill since 1963 and was a 1950 graduate of Troy High School. 

Chuck held many positions throughout his career at Ford Motor Company on Green Island.  He was Army veteran serving during the Korean War. 

He was a member of the United Auto Workers and a life member of both the Wynantskill Fire Department and North Greenbush Ambulance Association. He was a volunteer for the Fire Police Association State of New York, NY State Fire Chief’s Association, and the Rensselaer County Fire Police.

Survivors include his children, Diane M. Keeler (Rudy) Atencio, Rio Rancho, NM and Charles E. (Nancy) Keeler Jr., Cambridge, VT; his grandchildren, Krystyna E. Oravec (Michael) Cordts, Rio Rancho, NM,  Anna E. Keeler, Plattsburgh, Alexander T. and Andrew J. Keeler, both of Williston ,VT; two great grandsons, Johnathan and Jacob Cordts; his niece, Debra L. Keeler-Dempsey and her son, Shawn Dempsey, Cape Coral, FL. He was predeceased by his sister, Gertrude Keeler.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 4- 7PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10AM at the funeral home .

Interment will be in  Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Charles E Keeler Sr. to the Wynantskill Fire Department PO Box 174 Wynantskill, NY 12198.
