Catherine 'Kay' Cooper

Wynantskill - Catherine 'Kay' Cooper, of Hidley Road Extension, died July 20, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Watervliet she had resided in Wynantskill for 50 years and was wife for 50 years of William W. Cooper.

Kay was a bookkeeper for St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill for several years , retiring over 10 years ago. Many years ago, she worked at the Troy YMCA on First Street in Troy.

For many years she was a member of the Tamarac Twirlers square dance club.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a sister, Sophie (Jack) Harvey of Pittsfield, MA and two nephews, Michael Sofocleous of Fairfax, VA and Frank Sofocleous of Falls Church, VA.

Funeral service private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kay to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
