C. Robert Salisbury "Bob"

Salem, MA - C. Robert Salisbury "Bob" passed away peacefully at the home of his sister in North Greenbush on June 1, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He lived in Salem, MA since July of 2008 and was a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. He was an avid reader, traveler, cook, and was known for his enthusiasm, quick wit, humor, and passion about learning and world affairs.

Born on July 21, 1957 he was the son of Shirley Wood and George Robert Salisbury of Poestenkill. Bob was a 1975 graduate of Averill Park High School, where he participated in theatre, football, and track/field. He then went on to graduate from HVCC, SUNY Albany, and Empire State College. Bob also coached both of his daughters' basketball, track/field, and soccer programs. He then taught religious instruction at Sacred Heart Church in Troy, NY.

Bob worked at Vanderheyden Hall from 1979-1981 as a child care worker, St. Colman's Home from 1981-2005 as the Director of the Juvenile Boys Unit, and then went on to work for SUNY Albany as a Senior Education Specialist, Adolescent Services Resource, and as a Family Assessment and Service Planner.

Bob is survived by his partner, Tong Zhang; former wife, Sharon Salisbury; daughters, Diana of Ft. Myers, FL, Elizabeth of Wynantskill; his sister, Lori Ruffinen (Ralph), and nieces and nephews, Jason, Jenna, Jakob, and Robert.

Relatives and friends may call at the St. John's Episcopal Church 146 First Street Troy on Saturday from 10-11 AM with a funeral service following at 11AM with Rev. Stephen Schlossberg, Rector, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Boulevard, Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Bob Salisbury.
