Troy - Bruce W. Bryan Sr., 66, of River Street died Saturday, October 29, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness with his family by his side.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late William Bryan and Ruth Marshall Bryan. He was raised in Rome, NY and resided in Troy since 1996.

Bruce was a custodian for the College of St. Rose and formerly a pool maker for Paddock Pools.

He was an active volunteer with the First Baptist Church in Troy and the Troy Senior Center and loved practical jokes. He was awarded a certificate of commendation by Kathleen Jimino as an Honorary District Attorney in May of 2011.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Bryan Jr., Troy; a friend, Bill LaBombard; two grandchildren, Angel and Elissa Bryan; two brothers, William Bryan, Albany and Robert Bryan, Coxsackie; a sister, Vera Hagaman, Scotia and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 10 - 11 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Rev. Douglas Thomson, officiating.
