Brenda Pfeiffer Young, 66

Averill Park - Brenda Pfeiffer Young, 66,of Sheer Road, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Stanley Pfeiffer and May (Wrigley) Pfeiffer and wife for 47 years of William J.A. Young Jr.

She was raised in Troy, resided in Averill Park since 1961 and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1959.

Brenda was a compiler for the Legislative Index in Albany retiring many years ago. Prior to that she worked as compiler for the directory department of the NY Telephone Company in Menands.

She was a former member of the Burden Lake Country Club and the Monday golf scramble and a member of the mixed couple bowling league at Hi-Way Recreation in Wynantskill. She enjoyed traveling to St. Croix and Cape Cod. Brenda was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and Lebanon Valley auto racing.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her son, William J.A. Young III of Averill Park; her daughter, Lisa (James) Hill of Jupiter, FL; her sisters, Eleanor Seibert of Nassau, Judith Pfeiffer-Stoehr of New York City, Sharon (Ned) VanDerwerken of Poestenkill and Mary (Richard) Kainer
of Poestenkill and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie L. Bauer and a brother, Clifford Stanley Pfeiffer Jr.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.

Brenda had many special and supportive friends who helped her endure through her illness. The family would also like to thank Dr. Daniel Kredentser, Dr. John H. Malfetano and Jennifer VanAernem for all their loving care.
