Betty Clifford Signorelli, 80

Wynantskill - Betty Clifford Signorelli, 80, of Reichard Lane died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at her residence after a 13 year battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Earl Clifford and Ann Nash Clifford and beloved wife for 59 years of John J. Signorelli. She was raised in Watervliet and had resided in Wynantskill since 1954 and was a graduate of St. Brigids School in Watervliet class of 1948 and a 1952 graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Betty was a retired decorative painting teacher, having taught for over 20 years and last taught at the Ginger Bread Cottage in Defreestvillle. Betty enjoyed her Thursday painting sessions with her friends.

She was a former 4H leader, a volunteer at the North Greenbush Library and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and former Assistant Director of the Religious Education Program and a well known and sought out seamstress. She was also a Past President of the Capitolers Chapter of Decorative Painters. In her senior years, Betty became a 5K runner, often winning races in her age group. Upon reaching 75 years, Betty took up skydiving. She said if President Bush can do it I can.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her 5 children, John J. (Debra) Signorelli, North Greenbush, Peter F. Signorelli, Albany, Terri A. (Brian) Campbell, Rensselaer, Mary B. (Mike) Leonard Signorelli, Schodack and Michael T. Signorelli, Troy; a sister, Phyllis (Bud) McGrath, North Greenbush; a brother, William (Elaine) Clifford, Manchester, NH; 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Jessie, Cameron and Sylvia Signorelli and Nicholas and Stephanie Arango and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the St. Jude the Apostle Church Brookside Avenue Wynantskill on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9:30am at the CHURCH where a Mass of Christian Burial will be con- celebrated by Rev. John Varno and Rev. Anthony Ligato.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.
