Bertha Bonesteel Collier

North Greenbush - Bertha Bonesteel Collier, 94, of Blooming Grove Drive died Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Loren Bonesteel and Neva Wagar Bonesteel and wife for 42 years of the late John R. Collier Jr. She had resided in Wynantskill for many years and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Collier was a homemaker and for several years a bookkeeper for the Rensselaer County Probation Department.

She was a life long member of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill where she taught Sunday school and participated in many activities including the Women's Guild and bible study groups. She was a Wynantskill Library volunteer.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Collier (George) DeFilippis, Montclair, NJ; a son-in-law, Ellwood Kamperman, Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, James (Nancy) Kamperman, Linda Kamperman, John DeFilippis, Stephen DeFilippis and Michael DeFilippis; her great grandchildren, Julie Kamperman and Amy and Jeffrey Kamperman. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Collier Kamperman and a grandson, Christopher Kamperman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill Church Street and Main Avenue Wynantskill with Rev. Kerri Weldon , Pastor, officiating.

There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
