Barbara MacFarlane Cummins

Troy Barbara MacFarlane Cummins of Billings Avenue, died Sunday at her residence.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late John George and Anna Moeller Strohecker and wife for the past 16 years of James G. Cummins Sr. and the late Robert S. MacFarlane. She was a lifelong resident of Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1936.

Mrs. Cummins was a self-employed bookkeeper, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church serving on the Board of Elders and Deacons and a past president of the Women's Guild, a Sunday school teacher and a member of choir for many years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters Bonnie Lee MacFarlane of Denver, Co and Sharon Anne MacFarlane of Vienna, VA; a son Robert J. MacFarlane of Schenectady; two step sons James G. Cummins Jr. of Kingsport, TN and Karl Cummins of Wynantskill; 9 grandchildren; a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Eleanora L. Connery and Mildred M. Smith.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM from Third Presbyterian Church 113 Winter Street Troy with Rev Christopher Garrison, Associate Pastor of the Brunswick Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Cummins to the Third Presbyterian Church 113 Winter Street Troy, NY 12180 or the Children's Cancer Center of Albany Medical Center.
