Ava C. Quinones-Austin, 16

Troy - Ava C. Quinones-Austin, 16, of Pawling Avenue Troy died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at her residence after a long fight with cancer.

Born in Albany, she was daughter of David M. Austin and Catherine J. Quinones Austin. She had resided in Troy most of her life.

Ava was an11th grade student at Troy High School. Ava was a bright light. She was an artist, enjoyed music, drawing, painting, reading, jewelry making and watching old movies.

Survivors in addition to her parents include her maternal grandparents, David Quinones II and Michelle Quinones, Troy; three brothers, Ethan, Christopher and Joseph Quinones, all of Troy; her aunts and uncles, David (Ericka) Quinones III, Albany, Matthew and Kara Quinones, Troy,Theresa Quinones, Rensselaer, Peri (Stephen Thomas) Parrott, CA, Kevin (Maria) Parrott, NJ, Julie Austin, CO and Greg (Grace) Austin, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.
