Arden Mae Lenegar Bowman

Brunswick - Arden Mae Lenegar Bowman, died peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2008 from complications of a recent stroke and a broken heart as her husband, James H. Bowman passed November 11, 2007.

Arden was happily married for 59 years and had 5 children, Jeanette A. Bowman (Zalucky) who predeceased her, James A. Bowman of Troy, Judith A. Fitzgerald (Matthew) of Pittstown, JoAnne Latham (Jeffrey Hurlburt) of Brunswick, and Jill A. Winters (Bryan) of West Sand Lake. She has 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the daughter of Anna Mae Blackburn Lenegar Gorgen and George Lenegar.

Arden was born in Rensselaer and attended Bell Top School and graduated from Troy High School. Arden enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and horses. She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Troy where she served on Altar Guild, the church gardens, and the annual Christmas Fair. She participated in the Rensselaer Garden Club and Van Rensselaer Historical Society. She retired from the Brittonkill Central School District where she was the first female bus driver and served as a President of the PTA. First and foremost, Arden enjoyed being a mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, puppies, kittens, chicks, ducks and horses. Arden was always planning the next project or trip with her husband Jim.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Episcopal Church 146 First Street in Troy with Rev. Dr. Harold Carrier, Rector, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment Eagle Mills Cemetery in Eagle Mills.

Contributions may be made in memory of Arden Bowman to St. John's Episcopal Church 146 First Street Troy, NY 12180.
