Anne Marie (Doocey) Shake

Troy - Anne Marie Doocey Shake, 87, of Locust Avenue died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Evergreen Commons after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Joseph Doocey and Mary  Smith Doocey and wife for 65 years of the late Robert W.  Shake, Sr.  She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1945, The College of Saint Rose and earned her Master's Degree from Russell Sage College. 

Mrs. Shake was a music teacher for the Troy City School District for many years, retiring in 1983.  

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy, Sacred Heart Women’s Club and New York State Retired Teachers.    

Survivors include two daughters , Mary C. Shake, Lexington, KY and Joanne M. (Jeffrey) Jones, Matthews, NC; a daughter-in-law,  Ellen A. Shake, Waxhaw, NC; her sister, J. Elizabeth Doocey, Troy; her grandchildren, Kevin G. (Clara) Shake,  John Weiner, Malinda Shake,  David Weiner, Eileen Becker, Amy Shake and Gabrielle and Olivia Jones and a great granddaughter, Sydney Leonard.  She was predeceased by two sons, Robert W. Shake Jr. and James J. Shake; a daughter-in-law, Carmen H. Shake and two sisters,  Ellen Arnold and Dorothy Gettings.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4-7PM. 

Funeral service will be held  at  at the  funeral home Monday at 10AM and at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in  St. Agnes Cemetery Menands.
