Alvin M. BryskiAugust 5, 2007
Poestenkill - Professor Alvin M. Bryski, 70,of Mohawk Drive, died Sunday, August 5, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Wroxton, Saskatchewan, Canada, he was the son of the late Paul Bryski and Anne (Bil) Bryski and husband for 38 years of Michele Schreckenstein Bryski.
He was raised in Wroxton, Saskatchewan, Canada, resided in Center Berlin and for the past 31 years in Poestenkill. He attended Royal Roads in Victoria, British Columbia, earned his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan at Saskatoon and his Master's from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1968.
Professor Bryski was Professor and department chairperson for the Civil and Construction Department of Hudson Valley Community College for 30 years and was a consultant for Intertech in Troy for many years. Many years ago he was the Survey Chief for the construction of the road between Banff and Jasper in Canada.
He was a member of the American Council for Construction Education and a member of the Keepers of the Flame at HVCC.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughter, Mary A. (Bryan) Maurer of Wynantskill; a brother, Albert (Pat) Bryski of Winnipeg, Manitoba;a sister, Jean Morrow of Wynyard, Saskatchewan; a sister-in-law, Angela Bryski of Winnipeg, Manitoba; a granddaughter, Claire Maurer of Wynantskill; a special friend, Jenna Masters of West Sand Lake and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Rae Bryski.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 4-6 PM. The celebration of his life will continue following the visiting hours at The Country Grove Inn "G Building" 10 North Greenbush Road, across from HVCC.
