Alice L. Pemrick

Troy - Alice L. Pemrick died Sunday, August 30 at St. Peters Hospital after a short illness.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 30th, 1927 to Harry and Nannie Simpson.

Alice graduated from the Harper Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, and worked as an operating room nurse in Wayne County General Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan.

She moved to Troy in 1954, with her husband Dr. Thomas D. Pemrick, M.D., and assisted Dr. Pemrick in his office until his retirement in 1989.

Alice was committed to her community and was actively involved with many community organizations. She served on the board of the YWCA and Unity House, and was an active member in the Junior League, Rensselaer County Historical Society, Samaritan Hospital Women's Auxiliary and Van Rensselaer Garden Club. She was a devoted communicant of the Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Alice is survived by her three children; Mary Lee Dormandy and her husband, Gary, Donald Paul Pemrick, and James Warren Pemrick and his wife Eileen; and four grandchildren Matthew J., Kelly Lee, and Heather Anne Dormandy, and Thomas Ryan Pemrick.

The family wishes to convey their sincere thanks and appreciation to St. Peter's Hospital and the staff of the 4 Gabriel Love, 6 McAuley, ICU and Hospice units for the exceptional and compassionate care she received.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Troy. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.

Friends and family may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Thursday from 4-7PM.
