Alda (Buchanan) Riley

Brunswick - Alda Buchanan Riley, 89, of Brunswick Road died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Evarts, KY, she was daughter of the late James Buchanan and Ella Dunaway  Buchanan and wife of the late J. Edward Riley, who died in 1988. She was raised in Evarts, Kentucky and resided in Brunswick for many years. 

Mrs. Riley was a health care worker in the office of Dr. Richard Orsi, MD for several years, retiring 20 years ago. 

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy A. (David) Paul, East Greenbush; two sons, James E. (Linda) Riley, Jr., Eagle Mills and William Pat (Anne) Riley, East Greenbush; her grandchildren, Brian Joseph and Scott Martin Dongelewic and Brandon James, Kelsey Ann, Conner and Dana Riley; six great grandchildren, Allie, Andrew, Claire, Jason, Matthew and Ryan and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, J.T., Rat and Jerry Buchanan.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Samaritan Hospital Hospice and nurses and case management staff of the 6th floor.    

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Alda Riley to the local hospice of your choice.
