Alberta Wickham Lathers, 70

Troy - Alberta Wickham Lathers, 70, of Sixth Avenue Troy died Sunday, July 04, 2010, at Northwoods at Troy .

Born in Long Island, she was daughter of the late Lawrence I. Stevens Sr. and Emma Vanderbogart Stevens and wife of William C. Lathers Sr. of Troy and the late Howard R. Wickham. She had resided in the Stephentown and Troy areas all her life and attended Averill Park schools.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Troy, a lunch lady for St. Joseph's School, a secretary for the Rensselaer County Humane Society, made cakes for many and was an avid bingo player.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Daniel Fitzgerald, Schaghticoke; three daughters, Bonniejo Willard, Burden Lake, Hope A. Houghtaling, Troy and Wendy I. Fraser, Georgia, stepchildren, Elizabeth Vaughn, Troy , Pat Durand, Troy, Mary French, Wynantskill, William C. Lathers, Jr, Cohoes, Beverly Buchannan, Seward, Tammy Bridger, Arizona and Sally Jones, Troy; a brother, Burton E. Stevens, N Carolina; two sisters, Plina Swartz, Georgia and Laura E. Stevens, Nassau and 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Stevens Jr and James Stevens and two step daughters, Barbara Lever and Diane Grable.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Alexandra Lusak, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7PM.

Interment will be in Rome Cemetery Rome, NY.
