Agnes M. Jefferson Bayer, 93

Albany - Agnes M. Jefferson Bayer, 93, of Oak Drive died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center after a brief illness.

Born in Hartford, CT, she was daughter of the late John Jefferson and Helen Mackie Gardner Jefferson and wife of the late Edward G. Bayer. She was raised in Albany and resided here most of her life and was a graduate of Mildred Elley.

Mrs. Bayer was employed as an executive secretary for A&P Markets in Albany for many years.

She was a long time member of the First Church in Albany (Reformed), a Senior Deacon, a member of the building use committee and the long range planning committee and active in many capacities including the Weathervanes and playing shuffleboard.

Survivors include her cousins, Euphemia Serpliss, Newington, CT, James and Ethel Gardiner, West Hartford, CT, Mary McCulloch, Glasgow, Scotland, Barbara Snider of Phelan, California and Sister Nanine Tuller, Milton, MA and her devoted friends, Gerri and Bill Walsh, Loudonville.

Relatives and friends may call at the First Church in Albany 110 North Pearl Street Albany on Saturday from 12:30-1PM followed by the funeral service at 1PM with Rev. John Bowen and Rev. John Paarlberg, co-officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.
